Community Service is a big part of what makes Breakthrough Magnet School South a special place to be. Every grade level performs a community service project to help support local and global organizations primarily geared toward children and families. Our Early Childhood holds an annual plant sale in the spring and the proceeds benefit My Sister’s Place. Grades 1 & 2 are participating in Alex’s Lemonade Stand, and the proceeds go to cancer research. 3rd & 4th grade holds a pet supply drive to support CT Humane Society, and Grades 5 through 8 adopted a classroom in the International Leadership of Texas school located in Katy, Texas that was impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Finally, we have had several school-wide fundraisers in response to the hurricanes down south and in Puerto Rico, as well as our annual BMSS food drive around Thanksgiving time.
