Conferences are currently being scheduled for the week of November 16. If you haven’t yet heard from your child’s classroom teacher, expect to hear soon! Thursday, November 19 is a half day with the afternoon being reserved for conferences.

Mrs. Gustafson’s 5/6 class is collecting Pennies for Peace for their community service project this year. This program comes from the book, Three Cups of Tea, by Greg Mortenson, about a mountain climber from the U.S. who has built more than sixty schools in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The PTO Committee is sponsoring the annual BMS Pasta Dinner on Thursday, October 15. The PTO is asking families to volunteer to prepare a pasta dish either with or without meat. More information is available on the form sent home with all students. Additionally, if you plan to attend, you must return the bottom portion of the form to your child’s teacher no later than Monday, October 5.
PTO is meeting at 6:00 P.M. at Breakthrough Magnet School.
Book fair will be held in the BMS Media Center during the week of October 5.
The first PTO meeting is being held on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at BMS. PTO will provide dinner and daycare to ensure that you don’t miss the meeting!

Bring supper, blankets, and/or chairs and have your family dinner outside with your BMS family. Children can reacquaint with friends, parents will be able to meet their child’s teachers, and tours of the classrooms will be available. It will be a wonderful kickoff to a wonderful 2009-2010 school year!
